Protecting Our Communities

Every year, FIDEC’s efforts to promote immunization took on a new dimension with a vaccination campaign at several Latin American consulates in South Florida.

In collaboration with local health partners and community organizations like the ICMD , FIDEC engaged consulates from countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Peru to raise awareness about the importance of influenza vaccine and provide reliable health information to community members.

The initiative included educational outreach in consulate waiting areas and virtual discussions tailored to local priorities, offering information on how vaccines protect individuals and families across all ages. These activities reflect FIDEC’s mission to reduce the burden of infectious diseases through education, prevention, and community engagement.

Consular vaccination campaigns help break down barriers to immunization by making trusted health resources more accessible in familiar, community-focused spaces. By bringing accurate vaccine information directly to populations with diverse backgrounds, the campaign aims to increase vaccination coverage and protect public health across the region.
